Hype is coming
There is no simple way to figure out how to go viral on TikTok in 2019. Plenty of factors are at play. Most of them have to work in synergy for a video to go viral. More often than not, viral videos are a case of chance. Many videos go viral and there is no rational reasoning. Analyses of such phenomena may reveal simple reasons but those do not explain why the same factors do not work in favor of other videos. There is no shortage of interesting content on TikTok. A tiny fraction of it goes viral.
It is futile to talk about viral videos unless there is a promotional strategy in place. If a video goes viral by sheer luck then that cannot be replicated again. Hence, promotion is at the crux of the potential of a video being shared by many people. Views likes and the existing follower of a user are not sufficient for any video to go viral. The video must be shared by innumerable people in a relatively short span of time. This requires excellent TikTok promotion.
The first step is to have a well-planned approach to promoting a video. It must be shared with followers across social media and networks. The video should be targeted at influencers, so there is a chance of them sharing the same with their followers. Active groups and forums must be explored. Relevant circles of friends or pages should be targeted. Most contents that go viral have one thing in common. They spike the curiosity of users and satiate them enough to urge them to share the content with others.
The second step is to be aggressive with the entire promotional campaign. The target should not be a certain number of views in three days or seven days. There should be a substantial impetus on getting as many views as is realistically possible within a few hours. The entire following must be reached out to and their views should be secured within a day. Some followers may not be active every day, which is acceptable. If the entire following is not capitalized on within a day, then a significant asset remains underutilized. At the end of the day, a video will only go viral when more people than your following start to watch, like and share the content.
The third step is to leverage the buildup in due course of time. Ordinary people enjoying the app do not get to know about a video going viral until it has already become popular. The users who upload the contents are aware of this development, as it happens, so are the experts who keep an eye on such occurrences. As and when there are some signs of a video going viral or it shows potential for the same, the content creator should go on overdrive with sharing and other forms of promotions. The aggressive sharing can become a trigger and then there is a huge organic boost to the manner in which people engage with the content.
None of the promotional tips matter if the content itself is not worthwhile for users of TikTok. It is much easier to make any piece of content go viral if there is something topical about it. Pop culture, politics, media and entertainment, cinema and music, latest developments in sports and other contemporary, trending or burning issues are the best themes for a video to go viral on TikTok in 2019. The only other theme is absolute freshness. If you come up with a video that is totally different from everything that is on TikTok, then you have a serious chance of going viral.
